After more than 100 days of fighting, the Gaza Strip is the most dangerous place in the world to be a child.
Friend, we’ve just passed the 100-day mark since the war started. Up to 1.9 million people in the Gaza Strip — 85 percent of the population, half of whom are children — are now displaced. Intense bombardments continue to take lives and destroy communities. Families are separated. Water, food, fuel and medicine are all limited.
With winter arriving and the risk of famine looming, UNICEF continues to provide lifesaving assistance to Gaza and call for an immediate and long-lasting ceasefire.
Thanks to your support, UNICEF is among the top five aid organizations moving supplies from Egypt into Gaza. Since the start of the crisis, UNICEF and partners have:
- Trucked in fuel to operate essential water services and reached more than 1.3 million people with safe drinking water.
- Provided medical supplies, including 600,000 doses of vaccines, nutritional supplements and vitamins to children and pregnant women.
- Provided emergency supplies including winter clothing, blankets and tents to nearly 100,000 children.
Friend, UNICEF does everything possible to reach children in crisis, but much more support is required to meet the immense needs of children in Gaza and in crises worldwide.
