2024 Update

With the Iowa caucuses over, it’s New Hampshire’s turn in the national spotlight. Last night, Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy held an impressive event in the Granite State. It must have been a new experience for Trump to hear one of his competitors say very positive things about him.

Ramaswamy articulated Trump’s “Make America Great Again” message and also made it clear that this is the moment when conservatives and values voters are either going to save the country or not. And he was equally clear that Donald Trump understands this and has the strength to do it.

It was an encouraging moment of unity for the Republican Party.

At the same time, Sen. Ted Cruz, Trump’s main competitor in the 2016 primary, “enthusiastically” endorsed Donald Trump and urged the remaining candidates to unify behind Trump. And speaking of 2016 competitors, Trump also picked up the endorsement of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

As of now, Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis are showing no signs of wanting to unite the party by leaving the race so Trump can focus on Joe Biden and the November general election.

We just got a new poll out of New Hampshire, a state with one of the smallest percentages of evangelicals in the country. It finds Trump and Haley tied at 40% each.

Among self-identified Republicans, Trump leads by 12 points. But the New Hampshire primary is not a closed primary or limited to just registered Republicans, and there is an organized effort among Democrats to boost Haley in the New Hampshire primary.

Meanwhile, DeSantis knows he’s going nowhere in New Hampshire. The latest poll there showed him stuck in the single digits. So, immediately after the Iowa caucuses, he went straight to Nikki Haley’s home state of South Carolina, where he’s hoping for a surprise upset.

That doesn’t seem likely. The latest poll of South Carolina voters found Trump leading by 29 points over Haley and 47 points over DeSantis.

And if Haley can’t win her home state among those who know her best, it’s hard to see how she will perform any better in November.

Lies & Cover-ups

The emergency 911 call from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s home in northern Virginia was just released. According to press reports, parts of the call were redacted, such as names and addresses.

But we know that one of Austin’s aides [name redacted] called 911 to have an ambulance sent to [address redacted] in northern Virginia and also asked if it could take [name redacted] to Walter Reed National Military Center in Maryland.

Of course, we know who the ambulance was for. Yet even now, they’re still acting like this is a top-secret situation with all these redactions.

But here’s the most damning revelation: The aide specifically asked the dispatcher that the ambulance “not show up with lights and sirens,” adding, “We’re trying to remain a little subtle.”

So, during this “crisis,” it’s clear that the secretary of defense and his team were trying to hide it from the American people.

We should not let this issue go.

There are laws and regulations that govern such vacancies for federal officials like the secretary of defense and even the president.

If the president goes in for a medical procedure that requires significant anesthesia, he asserts that he will be temporarily incapacitated and assigns the vice president to temporarily assume his duties as “acting president.” This is true for all cabinet officials.

Reports indicate that at some point, Austin did transfer some authority to the deputy defense secretary. But she was out of the country and wasn’t informed as to why it was happening.

So, while Joe Biden runs around screaming about “threats to democracy,” his administration is, once again, failing to comply with the legal requirements of our “democracy.”

And the cover-up continues to this day. To the best of my knowledge, the doctors who treated Austin have yet to answer any questions from the media. All we got was a brief written statement from the Pentagon. That is extraordinary. It’s not the way these things are handled.

More Lies

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is at the World Economic Forum, the big globalist gathering in Davos, Switzerland. While speaking in Davos, he declared that one of the biggest mistakes we ever made was tearing up the nuclear deal with Iran. Blinken said:

“We had Iran’s nuclear program in a box. Since the agreement was torn up, it’s escaped from that box, and we’re now at a place where we didn’t want to be because we don’t have the agreement. So, I think that was deeply unfortunate.”

That is a bald-faced lie!

Nothing in the 2015 Obama/Biden nuclear agreement put the ayatollah’s nuclear program “in a box.” It merely regulated the speed with which his radical Islamic regime could acquire nuclear weapons.

There was no way to conduct thorough inspections to ensure the Iranians, who have broken every major agreement they ever signed, were complying with the deal. So, it was completely worthless.

But because this administration spent three years appeasing Iran, experts are now warning that the tyrants of Tehran “would need only about a week to produce enough [weapons-grade uranium] for its first nuclear weapon.” After about five months, Iran could build a dozen nuclear weapons.

Just imagine the chaos Iran would unleash with a dozen nukes! That’s what an “America last” foreign policy looks like.

Speaking Of America Last. . .

Suzanne Clark, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, delivered an address last week in which she aggressively defended globalism and lashed out at policies that try to protect a nation’s industries, i.e., our nation -- America.

She even attacked the idea of re-shoring jobs, or, as she put it, “reactively repatriating supply chains.”

Re-shoring is the process that’s happening right now as American businesses realize that communist China is an enemy of the United States with zero respect for the rule of law and basic human rights. As a result, those companies are bringing their factories and jobs back home.

This is just common sense. It’s also in the best interests of our national security. But not to the globalists at the Chamber of Commerce. They are furious.

Apparently, Clark learned nothing from the COVID pandemic, which revealed just how dependent on communist China we had become.

Never mind that there were times when we couldn’t get necessary medical supplies because they were all “Made in China.”

Never mind that we are dependent on communist China for needed medicines

Never mind that even our biggest defense companies are dependent on communist China, our biggest enemy. Who let that happen?!

Someone with Clark’s mindset may dress up nicely and fit in well at Manhattan cocktail parties. But their loyalty to multinational corporations -- not American corporations but global corporations -- makes them no better than any left-wing professor who despises America. These big business globalists, including many in the GOP’s donor class, are no better.

Thankfully, congressional conservatives no longer think of the Chamber of Commerce as a natural ally – especially as Corporate America has become increasingly woke and promotes the left’s radical agenda

And, thankfully, more and more Republicans are seriously rethinking America’s relationship with communist China.

Dimon Defends MAGA

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon might not get invited to Manhattan cocktail parties anymore after his latest remarks in Davos. He had the audacity to defend Donald Trump and MAGA voters, even as progressives are viciously demonizing them. Here’s what Dimon said during a CNBC interview this morning:

“I wish the Democrats would think a little more carefully when they talk about MAGA. You know, and if you travel this country, the country’s unbelievable. . . But when people say MAGA, they’re actually looking at people voting for Trump, and . . . they’re basically scapegoating them, [saying] that ‘You are like him.’ . . .

“If you just take a step back, be honest. He’s kind of right about NATO. Kind of right about immigration. He grew the economy quite well. Tax reform worked. He was right about some of China. . .

“He wasn’t wrong about some of these critical issues, and that’s why they’re voting for him. And I think people should be a little more respectful of our fellow citizens. . . I think this negative talk about MAGA is going to hurt Biden’s election campaign.”
