John,

In true Georgia-fashion, the weather has suddenly turned bleak and we could see temps below freezing for nights to come.

Despite the risks of the cold, landlords across the county are handing out evictions and threatening our community members with homelessness – and many of our residents don't have the means to defend themselves.

That's why in November last year, the team of commissioners and I established the Eviction Legal Defense Fund: providing no-cost legal assistance to bolster housing stability and promote legal equity in our community.

John, we want to ask you – do you think the county has taken the right approach to housing insecurity in our community? We've created a quick, 4 question survey to hear what you have to say about our efforts to protect the residents of DeKalb >>

As Super District 6 Commissioner, I'm always looking for the best way to put our resources back into the community – and part of my progressive vision for DeKalb includes making sure housing is available and accessible for all county residents.

The Eviction Legal Defense Fund will prioritize support for those most in need, including low and extremely low-income residents to protect vulnerable families and individuals from the long-term consequences of eviction.

I'm proud to see my policy come to life and make sure our community members get the resources they need. Together we can continue alleviating the financial pressures from hardworking folks in DeKalb now and beyond.

John, tackling housing insecurity is one of my top priorities as Super District 6 Commissioner. Please, would you fill out our 4 question survey and let us know if your values are in line with our actions to increase accessible housing?

Thank you,

Ted Terry
