Republicans keep lying about immigrants and the border.
They claim that President Biden doesn’t want to fund border security. Not true.
They claim that migrants are bringing drugs and crime into the country. Another whopper.
But the lies don’t end there.

Who’s really behind these lies being spewed by the GOP? Since he entered politics, Donald Trump has fanned nativist fears and bigotry. Now, he’s gone full fascist and uses the actual language of Hitler to attack immigrants.
He and many other Republicans want us to forget that almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or simply sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.
Only when we see the shared humanity in those who seek better lives for themselves and their children can we adopt a border policy that enshrines our national values. Anything less debases not only the immigrants, but our own humanity.
