John, it's only one week into session, and look at what extremists in the legislature are trying to do:

After the Dobbs decision in 2022, the state sent this issue directly to voters – and you all made it clear that Kansas is a state that protects the right to an abortion.
But just as the session begins, extremists are already bringing the issue back to the table.
House Bill 2492 , presented by 8 Republican State Representatives, 1️⃣ bans almost all forms of abortion, 2️⃣ makes it illegal for a person in Kansas to prescribe, distribute, sell or donate medicinal abortion drugs, and 3️⃣ allows anyone to file a civil lawsuit against anyone who pursues or contributes to an abortion.
We've seen laws like this in other states, making national headlines for causing women to flee and seek lifesaving reproductive care in other states while fighting legal battles.
We can't let the same thing happen in Kansas – especially after voters had their say.
