MSP Aims to Remove Job Application Barriers

MSP Hiring Event

To better serve and reach individuals interested in a career with the Michigan State Police, we?re hosting streamlined hiring events to attract potential troopers and motor carrier officers throughout the state this year.

By removing barriers like access to a laptop or transportation and physically meeting candidates closer to their homes, the hiring process is more accessible, efficient and effective.

At each hiring event, MSP Recruiters are onsite to administer the entry-level law enforcement exam, assist with completing the applications, build authentic connections and answer questions one-on-one.

Twenty hiring events are being held in various cities throughout the state through the end of the year. You can view the full list and other events where you can find MSP recruiters here [ [link removed] ]. Please note that time and location specifics will be added closer to the event?s dates.

We?re actively recruiting for the following future trooper recruit schools:

* 146th Lateral Entry Trooper Recruit School for licensed police officers to begin May 12
* 147th Trooper Recruit School scheduled to begin on July 7
* 27th Motor Carrier Officer Recruit School slated to be held in 2024.

Seeking Fifth Graders to Participate in Annual Poster Contest

There are currently more than 670 missing children in Michigan. While many children return home, some unfortunately do not.

To raise awareness, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Missing Persons Clearinghouse invites fifth grade students to participate in the 2024 National Missing Children?s Day Poster Contest. The annual contest creates an opportunity to promote child safety while discussing the issue of missing and/or exploited children.

Michigan?s winning artist will have a shot at the national contest, which includes a free trip to Washington D.C. and the opportunity to have their artwork featured as the National Missing Children?s Day poster.

Submissions are due by February 2, 2024.

The application and contest rules can be found online. [ [link removed] ]
