Beginning March 4, this 12-part recorded online course is designed and presented at an introductory, university level, with two one-hour sessions per week over 6 weeks (Mondays and Wednesdays). The course will cover: History of Ornithology and Recreational Bird Watching (Birding), Anatomy and Physiology, Mechanics of Flight, Biogeography of Bird Distribution, Classification, Evolution and Speciation, and Bird Field Study Research Methods. Instructional presentations will include PowerPoint slides, auditory or video supplements, and some in-class participatory exercises. Each Zoom session will be made available to all participants by the following day. No prerequisites for this course. This also makes a great gift for the bird-lover in your life.
