Dear John,
With less than 2 months to Election Day, I wanted to share with you a quick briefing on my campaign:
What’s happening: In November, I announced that I’m running for the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee (SF DCCC).
Why it matters: Although this may seem like a small race, the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee sets the tone for who and what the Democratic Party stands for in San Francisco – and how we project those values statewide.
Why am I running: I’m running to champion the values I believe the Democratic Party should embody – a party that fights for all people, not just the wealthiest few.
|
What’s my track record: During my time on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, I led – and won – fights to uplift working people through tuition-free city college, a living wage, tenant protections, and affordable housing. Since, I’ve focused on bringing these values statewide – I’m taking on big oil, pollution, and climate injustice; advocating for an extreme wealth tax so our state’s wealthiest few pay their fair share; fighting for tenant protections; and working to recruit and train the next generation of progressive leaders to run for office – and win.
Who supports me: I’ve earned the endorsements of the San Francisco Labor Council, SEIU 1021, the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club, the San Francisco Tenants Union, the United Educators of San Francisco, Our Revolution, and the League of Pissed Off Voters. A growing list of supporters can be found here.
Who am I up against: The conservative business community and billionaire-backed special interests are targeting the SF DCCC as part of their efforts to roll back the bold and important reforms we have made over the years, and to put a stop to the movement we’re building statewide.
How can you help: To keep fighting for progress for all – we need to reach every Democrat in the district. Will you pitch in $25, $50, or whatever you can afford to help me continue fighting for the future of our city?
What’s next: This election can help decide what kind of city San Francisco will become, and together – we can contribute to a California that works for all.
|
Together, we can keep fighting for progress – not just for the next few years, but for the next generation.
Thank you for your support,
Jane
