Hi John,
Just over a week ago today, I was helping to unload a U-Haul of folding chairs and tables, clipboards, and other supplies into our new office. Everything was getting set up to distribute materials, run phone banks, canvasses, and text banks to help elect Democrats.
Since Monday, no one has been there.
As is true with many across the country, we have moved to working remotely. For us, that means we are also figuring out how to run a campaign virtually, without knocking on doors, without shaking hands, without face-to-face conversations, for the foreseeable future.
We are committed to make this work, because our values still need to be defended. We still believe that healthcare should be affordable and accessible, that we need to build an economy that serves all of us, not just those at the top, and that we can’t let the most vulnerable in our society fall through the cracks. This is more true now than ever before.
I know this is an extraordinarily tough time. But if you still believe in our work, I’m asking you to consider making a gift of $20.20 to help us transition to a virtual campaign.
So what does a virtual campaign look like?
Going virtual means we will need to increase our ability to text and call voters. It means we need to train our volunteer base on new technology. It means we will need to expand our volunteer’s access to technology.
All of this is going to take resources. That’s why making a gift of whatever you can afford right now to help us switch to virtual is so important.
Thank you for all you do and stay healthy.
Jeff
