We are excited to roll out a new resource today: a guidebook to negotiating with journalists on behalf of families you work with. [[link removed]]
News coverage can generate much-needed public and policymaker attention for issues that matter to immigrant families. But organizations that work with families are often reluctant because they do not have confidence that journalists will approach the interview in a way that protects the interests of the families they serve.
That’s why PIF’s Communications Working Group and Community Education Working Group partnered to develop an interview negotiation guide. From the roles of spokesperson and journalist to the basics of family spokesperson prep, Finding Common Ground [[link removed]] offers field-tested tips for partners who want to help the families they serve raise their voices and shape the public conversation about issues that matter.
