Exciting plans for the year ahead

Hello Supporter

I'm excited to tell you about some of our plans for the year ahead...

Better Transport Week is back!

I'm very happy to say that Better Transport Week 2024 will run from 17 to 23 June. We ran the first-ever Better Transport Week last year, and it was so great to have a national celebration of sustainable transport, we're going to do it every year!

Better Transport Week is for everyone who cares about transport, whether you're a bus user, a rail passenger or a fan of the tram; whether you walk or wheel, cycle or car-share. Packed with fun events, powerful actions, competitions and special offers, it's a chance to celebrate the sustainable transport that makes our lives better. That's everything from sleeper trains across Europe to walking the kids to school!

Euro 2024: Ask the England team to take the train

Imagine if the England men's football team took the train to Germany for the Euros later this year, rather than a plane! And then travelled to their matches by train as well, for journeys shorter than three hours. What an amazing boost that would be for green travel! We've written to England manager Gareth Southgate and the English FA to ask them to do just that - but we need your help to persuade them! Please can you...

  1. Sign our open letter to Gareth Southgate
  2. Ask your friends to sign too? (Especially any football fans - how about the mates you watch matches with, the local team you play with, or fellow parents from your child's team? Send them the link!)
Read and sign the letter

Help us do more in 2024

As well as Better Transport Week and our football campaign, in 2024 we will be pressing politicians to make rail a priority in an election year, working to enable bus reform, calling for action on international rail travel and making the case for trams in UK cities. We will also continue our day-to-day work of protecting and improving public transport and working to connect communities like Daphne's.

You might remember our Christmas appeal, written by Daphne, who struggles to visit family or attend medical appointments since the bus to her village was axed. We were deeply grateful to receive almost 200 donations in response to Daphne's message. If you have not made a donation and you would like to, it's not too late.

Kindly donate to support our work

Thank you so much

Warmest wishes for the year ahead

Paul

P.S. We've been looking back on some of the things we achieved with your help in 2023. None of these successes would have been possible without our amazing supporters, so to you we offer a huge thanks – we’re looking forward to the year to come!
