Can the Government Order Churches Be Closed in a Pandemic?
By: Bruce Hausknecht

A week ago it was newsworthy to report that Kentucky’s governor requested or suggested that churches consider cancelling Sunday worship services.

Then governors started ordering all gatherings of a certain amount— 50 or 250 or 500 were the typical numbers—be banned until further notice.

And today The Daily Citizen has learned that a local pastor in Gainesville, Florida was told by a city police officer that if he held a meeting on Sunday with 50 or more people, he would be subject to arrest and prosecution under an order by the city manager!

We’ve come so fast, so far in one week, that people are wondering. Is that legal? People of faith are especially concerned given the level of hostility from government that already exists.

Radical Pro-Abortion Activists Unseat One of the Last Pro-Life Democrats
By: Brittany Raymer

Last night, Representative Dan Lipinski, the nation’s most prominent pro-life Democrat, lost his primary battle against a pro-abortion candidate. Senator Bernie Sanders was right, there is no longer a place for pro-life politicians within the Democrat party.

In 2018, Marie Newman (D) launched a well-funded campaign against pro-life Democrat Representative Dan Lipinski (IL-3). She lost, but the margin was small. For most political commentators, it signified that it was just a matter of time until Dan Lipinski officially lost his seat.

Two years later, the pro-abortion Newman succeeded in removing one of the last three pro-life Democrat Representatives from the House. It’s a sad day not only for Rep. Lipinski and his team, but it is also a sad reflection on the future of American politicians.

At least 33 states have announced that public schools will be closed due to the coronavirus. The length of the closures varies from state to state, with some schools remaining shut down until the end of March, others shuttered through the end of April, and some for the rest of the year.

With all 50 states and the District of Columbia reporting COVID-19 cases, it’s likely that more states will follow suit in efforts to slow the spread of the virus.

Petition Organizers Prepare Final Push to End Late-Term Abortion in Colorado
By: Zachary Mettler

Tens of thousands of Coloradans are ready to end legal late-term abortion in their state. A Democrat trifecta in the Colorado government makes pro-life legislation impossible to pass, so Colorado voters are taking things into their own hands.

On March 3, 2020, the pro-life petition organization Due Date Too Late turned in over 135,000 signatures from citizens of Colorado who all want late-term abortion to end. 43,000 signatures were collected in just the last six days of the effort.
