We’ve reached a time for choosing in higher education. Over the past few months, American college campuses have been the center of controversy. Antisemitism is on the rise. Top university presidents are failing to stand up for their own institutional missions of pursuing truth and responsible citizenship.

Many people around the country are re-evaluating the role and purpose of higher education. Do we continue the status quo? Implement some significant changes? Or do we give up on our institutions of higher learning altogether?

Join the Jack Miller Center's President, Hans Zeiger, for a conversation with three esteemed professors of political science and constitutional law to discuss real solutions to the crisis in higher education.

The Next Step for Disaffected Donors
Hans Zeiger

"It is clear by now that American higher education is in crisis. To find solutions, funders must do more than close their checkbooks to institutions that have proven disappointing.

They must also find ways to support the recovery of liberal learning, with its positive commitment to veritas—the Latin word for truth that is enshrined in the motto of Harvard and numerous other American universities. "

Embracing Civics Can Help Restore Trust in Higher Education
Justin Dyer

"At the dawn of a new year, administrators, professors and students of elite universities stand raw and exposed before an increasingly dubious public.

While university leaders appear weak and aimless and students ideologically adrift, it would be a mistake to give up on our universities. They are too important to freedom in America."

The Jack Miller Center is an educational venture committed to solving the crisis of uninformed citizenship by teaching America’s founding principles and history. We aim to expand the pipeline of scholars dedicated to teaching America’s founding principles and history, to seed and cultivate college campus centers for the study of the American political tradition, and to advance the teaching of American citizenship in K-12 schools centered around our history and foundational texts.
