Amid the joyous celebrations of last night's 75th Emmy Awards was a
touching tribute to our dear Norman Lear.

Introducing the traditional ‘in memoriam’ portion of the program were
actors Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers, former stars of Norman’s hit sitcom
“All in the Family.” Rob’s moving words paid tribute to the lasting legacy
that Norman has left behind:

“Over the decades, Norman brought us together and he created
groundbreaking television shows that depicted real people. Made us
laugh, made us think, made us feel. […] When Norman stirred [the] pot,
he wound up changing American culture.”

Indeed, Norman has changed American culture. Not only through his
trailblazing television programming, but through the creation of this very
organization of which you are a fundamental part and whose continued support and advocacy
will no doubt ensure that Norman’s legacy lives on for generations to
