Statement on Coronavirus
I started experiencing very mild flu-like symptoms last Friday morning and immediately contacted NHS111 as a precaution. Their advice was for me to self-isolate at home, including from the rest of my family, which is what I have done, and am continuing to do so.
My flu-like respiratory symptoms have worsened slightly as time has gone on. I still have no idea whether this is Covid-19 or just a bit of a cold as there is no routine testing being done. I will remain in self-isolation until either the 7-day period* or until all symptoms are gone (if longer). The rest of my family remain well and are not in contact with me.
My constituency office is still functioning, although all surgery cases will be dealt with by phone, video link or email until further notice. Please call 0161 320 1504 or email [email protected].
Anybody showing signs – however mild – of a temperature, new dry cough or wheeziness, should self-isolate. Call NHS 111 immediately for advice if you’re experiencing severe symptoms. Please also maintain good hand washing practices to avoid spreading the virus.
