Now I’ll be blunt because I’m me. There’s been confusion about which Debbie is retiring and which Debbie is running for reelection. Debbie Stabenow is retiring and will not be running for reelection to the U.S. Senate after a long, distinguished career.

To make it even simpler, let's say blonde Debbie is officially running for reelection and redhead Debbie is about to begin a new chapter in her career of public service.

Let me tell you why I'm running for reelection. It's because I have a lot of fight in me and I am not backing down. I love this district. I love this job. I love my community.

Every single day, I listen to as many voices in the district as I can so that I can bring their stories and experiences to Congress and fight for real, lasting, necessary change. Echoing your voice on Capitol Hill is what drives me every moment. That’s why you see me walking around your neighborhoods by myself asking you directly what’s on your mind.

I want to make two things very clear about my reelection campaign. First, I don’t take a single vote in this campaign for granted. I am determined to continue delivering for the people of this district in Congress, and I will work day and night to make that happen.

Second, I am not simply working to turn out voters in MI-06 so I win in November. Every day this year, I will be working to reach voters across the state and nation to help Democrats win up and down the ballot so we can fight back against Trump and his dangerous MAGA agenda.

The work we do this year in MI-06 will have a critical impact on winning the presidency for Joe Biden, electing a Democrat to Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat, and taking back control of the U.S. House. MI-06 also has some of Michigan’s most competitive state house seats, which means turning out voters in November will help Democrats keep control of Michigan’s state legislature.

This work is going to take a serious amount of resources and time. You know my least favorite part of my job is asking you for money, but I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important, Team.
