GLAAD
Friend, last night’s Emmy Award was a historic win. So many people have worked tirelessly to get LGBTQ representation to where it is today. And for us, this work is personal.
What the world sees on TV directly influences how we treat each other and the decisions we make in our living rooms, schools, at work, and at the ballot box.
But we are far from finished. Our community has achieved so much, and yet we are still being villainized with cruel and harmful lies. We need more culture-changing stories, particularly about transgender people and about queer people of color.
When you don’t know people, it’s easy to demonize them. Visibility creates understanding and opens doors. It’s life-saving.
Please take action today to support the representation of everyone in the LGBTQ community. Sharing stories is the antidote to hate, and we’re not done telling this story.
