Dear Friend,
The government is very good at using legitimate crises and manufactured diversions as a means of expanding their power at the expense of our freedoms.

What we see unfolding before us—the lockdowns, the hints of martial law, the overriding of every freedom principle enshrined in the Constitution—is a test. This is not a test of our commitment to basic hygiene or disaster preparedness or our ability to come together as a nation in times of crisis.

Rather, this is a test ([link removed]) to see how well we have assimilated the government’s lessons in compliance, fear and police state tactics; a test to see how quickly we’ll march in lockstep with the government’s dictates, no questions asked; and a test to see how little resistance we offer up to the government’s power grabs when made in the name of national security.

Most critically of all, this is a test to see whether the Constitution—and our commitment to the principles enshrined in the Bill of Rights—can survive a national crisis and true state of emergency.

Rest assured, The Rutherford Institute is still on the job. ([link removed])
ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF LIBERTY: YOUR DONATIONS KEEP US ON THE FRONT LINES OF THE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM ([link removed])
“We the people” cannot afford to let down our constitutional guard and relax our defenses for even a moment. And we cannot allow the government to use this coronavirus scare as a means of expanding—and entrenching—their powers at our expense.

Times are hard.

People are worried, scared for the health and wellbeing of their loved ones, and struggling to figure out what comes next. We don’t have any reassuring answers, but this we can promise: we’re determined to keep standing guard, keep sounding the alarm, and keep pushing back against the power grabs.

Together, we’ll get through this and we will make America free again.

For freedom,

John W. Whitehead
President
