One year ago, I was sworn in as Maryland’s 34th Comptroller, becoming the first woman independently elected to one of Maryland’s statewide constitutional offices.

It was humbling and exciting to become the Comptroller… But even more exciting has been having the chance to be the Comptroller – and to help reimagine how this agency can work in partnership to create a state that is more equitable, more resilient, and more prosperous.
We ran in a highly competitive race. It ended up being the most expensive Comptroller race in Maryland history. But because of folks like you – phone-banking, knocking on doors, contributing to our grassroots efforts, and showing up at the polls – we made history.
Over the last year, my team and I have worked diligently to make government work better, ensure the office's resources reach Marylanders, and plan for a better future. I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished so far, but there’s still so much left to do!
I’m incredibly grateful for your support and look forward to our continued work together!
My very best,
(She, Her, Hers)
