John, I’m personally reaching out with some big news: I’m running for re-election to Congress in Georgia’s 6th District. The past few months have been a whirlwind since Georgia Republicans blatantly gerrymandered our Congressional districts in a partisan attempt to remove me from Congress. When it became clear that these new maps were here to stay, I thought of the promise I made to my son - that I would never let up the fight against gun violence. I refuse to let the GOP’s cheap tactics determine when my time in Congress is over. However, the GOP is working overtime to keep me from returning to Congress by re-drawing all the lines. And this election is right around the corner. We’ve set a goal of raising $25k in grassroots contributions by Friday at midnight – will you rush a donation to start this campaign on strong footing? I need your support if we want to have the resources to communicate across this district, to share my story and the important work I’m doing on behalf of Georgians. I’ll need mailers, canvassing, advertisements, and more. We must raise enough money in the coming months to run a well-funded and thorough campaign – and since the GOP pulled this nonsense with less than a year until Election Day, we’re making up for lost time.
