To Our VaNews Readers –

Earlier this month, we thought that after the General Assembly session adjourned, there might be a dearth of headlines.

Then came COVID-19.

The VPAP team hopes that your family is safe and adjusting the best it can to the disruption to daily routines and economic activity.

I’m writing to assure you that VPAP remains open for business and is committed to keeping you informed with trusted headlines about Virginia government and politics. We don’t have any precedent for the days ahead. But we know our best hope is for Virginians to keep fear and misinformation at bay. You can continue to count on VaNews to compile articles – whether from newspapers, broadcast stations or online outlets – that meet the highest standards for original news reporting.

As important as it is to stay informed, we recognize that recent headlines have seemed unrelenting. With that in mind, look for a special edition tomorrow that takes a break from current headlines and brings you a handful of past features that have appeared in The Friday Read. These stories are a reminder of how the human condition can inspire awe and wonder.

We are grateful that you are part of the VaNews community. And we thank the many readers whose financial support makes this service possible.

Our goal remains to prove ourselves worthy of your trust.
