Malliotakis Announces Annual Presidents' Day Essay Contest (WASHINGTON, DC) - Today Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) announced she will be hosting her annual Presidents' Day Essay contest for Staten Island and Brooklyn students. Students in grades three through five who reside or attend school in New York's 11th Congressional District are encouraged to participate and write essays about what they would do to improve their community if they were President of the United States. “Last year, my office received over 600 submissions for our Presidents' Day Essay Contest, more than double the number of essays we received since bringing this tradition to Congress three years ago," Malliotakis said. "This is a great way for students to learn about the Executive Branch and how they can give back to their communities. In years past, my office has heard proposals on everything from how to confront bullying, make housing more affordable to spending more time with our seniors. I look forward to hearing directly from students about the issues important they believe are impacting their everyday life and finding ways to work together to develop solutions." Each winner will receive a congressional certificate of recognition from Malliotakis, a gift card to a local bookstore and will be invited to a pizza party where they will have the opportunity to meet with Congresswoman Malliotakis to discuss their ideas. CONTEST DETAILS: Submission deadline is Friday, February 23, 2024. All essays must be submitted by mail to Malliotakis' Staten Island District Office located at 1698 Victory Blvd, Suite 2L, Staten Island, NY 10314. Essays must not exceed 400 words in length. To be considered, submissions must include the student’s first and last name, school, grade, class, along with their parent or guardian's name and contact information. ### ‌ ‌ ‌ Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) | 351 Cannon House Office Building, Washington, DC 20515 Unsubscribe [email protected] Update Profile | Constant Contact Data Notice Sent by [email protected]
