In just a minute, I’m going to ask you to make your first online donation to my campaign here in Arizona. I’m hoping you’ll make it before our mid-month deadline at midnight tonight. Please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important, on today of all days.
In 2020, Arizona’s Senate campaign was one of the most expensive in the country. In 2022, Arizona’s Senate campaign was one of the most expensive in the country, again. And in 2024, Arizona’s Senate campaign will end up being one of the most expensive in the country.
The only difference between those first two campaigns and this one is that we are raising less than they did. It’s hard to tell why. But what isn’t hard to tell is that we are in trouble if it keeps up.
If it does, we won’t be able to go toe to toe with Kari Lake. We won’t have the resources we need to fight off the Super PACs and outside groups that are going to throw millions of dollars in attacks against us.
If we can’t do that, we’ll see more polls showing us falling behind. If we keep missing our goals, it will become harder and harder to catch up. And if that all happens, we might lose. Really.
That is why this mid-month deadline is so important. Because this race is only getting tougher, and we’re slipping behind in our fundraising.
