Another reason NOT to own an EV

Dear John,

As EV owners are learning - they don't work in the cold!!

Not only is driving range reduced, but the lithium batteries have a hard time starting, and even keeping their charge, in cold weather. And once you get to the charging station, often the cables are frozen themselves, making it difficult to even charge your car.

As the video from Channel 2 News shows, people in the 6th District were waiting in line for 5+ hours and then spending another 2 hours charging - only to have to return and charge again the same day.

Sean Casten is pushing EVs on the American people, and they are nothing more than a huge hassle in this area. Who has time to spend all day charging and re-charging their cars!!

As an Energy Consultant, I understand the importance of energy independence and achieving green initiatives in a beneficial manner. Once in Congress, I push a multi-pronged approach that supports the American people - not hurts them.
