PERKINS: Memo to Democrats - Lawlessness Started Long Before January 6 |
by Tony Perkins |
With nothing but three years of failure to campaign on, President Biden has made it clear that he intends to use January 6 as the theme of his reelection bid. The first evidence of that was his speech in Charleston on Monday, when he told the audience, "Let me say what others cannot: We must reject political violence in America. Always. Not sometimes - always." Conservatives agree - we just didn't wait until January 6 to say so. |

What to Think about Speaker Johnson's Spending Deal |
by Suzanne Bowdey |
After a week of angry outbursts and threats, cooler heads may have prevailed in Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-La.) Thursday meeting with Republicans. That would be a relief, considering that the first few days of 2024 haven't exactly been a joyride for the Louisianan, who's struggling to find a sweet spot on government spending that wins over his insatiable, wafer-thin majority. It's a painful exercise in the challenges of the job, which only seems to be getting more difficult with the unrealistic expectations of his party. |

Spending Time with God Shouldn't be a To-Do List: The Importance of Slowing Down |
by Sarah Holliday |
Moving back to America was a major culture shock. Among several differences, what mostly stood out was the fast-paced nature of American society. I'm not here to dissect the interworking's of this country nor the different governments we're dealing with. Simply, I'm here to say it was hard to adapt. I noticed how common it was to have a full schedule with little flexibility, as if the general default was go, go, go! |
