But We're Far From Finished

Dear Friend,

Did you see Sarah Kate Ellis just now? I hope you know how important you were in shaping our Emmy win. Because when GLAAD was founded 40 years ago, it was powered by the belief that if news and entertainment media treated our stories with humanity, the world would follow suit.

Back then, there were zero reccuring LGBTQ characters on TV. Now, there are 600. In the 40 years since our founding, we've seen the impact of that representation. In 2023, LGBTQ acceptance reached an all-time high -- and half of this year's Emmy nominees for best Drama and Comedy Series performers include us!

Our stories have changed lives... In real life and on air, closet doors burst open. LGBTQ people got married, started families, and won the freedom to live their most authentic lives.

But we are far from finished. So while you're celebrating tonight, make a gift that accelerates our work for LGBTQ representation -- for more shows like Will & Grace or Pose.

Here's to Our Next Milestone

GIVE NOW: [link removed]

================================================================

If LGBTQ youth are still attacked, if queer people of color are not visible, if our marriages can be rolled back by desperate and hateful politicians, and if transgender people are not safe and accepted -- then there is no equality.

Diverse stories, especially those told by diverse creators, have gained ground -- but still face an uphill battle. And this Emmy does not signify that our community is done climbing or fighting -- we're far from finished! But we need your support to keep up this momentum.

Look at how far we've come. Look at the power of this work. Imagine what could be next. Make a gift today and help us reach our next milestone... and every one after.
