John, I have
a quick campaign update after a busy week:

We qualified for the FOX 11 Los Angeles U.S. Senate debate with three
other candidates, including celebrity Republican candidate Steve Garvey.

Garvey is surging to second place in recent polls, despite his total lack
of political experience and very little campaigning.

He is a real wild card, and with Republicans preparing to vote in the GOP
presidential primary on the same ballot, he stands a real chance of
advancing to November.

I’ll be spending much of the next week in debate prep — sharing my plans
for California’s future and preparing for Garvey’s attacks.

I really need to spend this time preparing for the debate instead of
worrying about our fundraising, but unfortunately, it’s been a slow start
to the year.
