I have felt called to Dr. King’s message from an early age. View in browser

John,

These words of Dr. King’s are in my thoughts today: "An injustice to one is an injustice to all."

One of the biggest reasons I am running for office is to fight for equity and equality for all people, especially those who have historically had their basic rights stripped away or denied.

At an early age, I have felt called to the ultimate struggle for justice, equality, and doing my part to end the toxic legacy of racism and divisiveness that still plagues our nation, nearly 60 years after the struggles of Dr. King’s time.

Today more than ever, with a disturbing rise in political violence, we must reflect on the legacy of peacemaker Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and strive to do more—much more—to honor his memory.

It is during these times, times of “challenge and controversy,” that we must dig deep and find the strength to stand for what we know is right and good and true.

Thank you for staying in the fight, for always leading with justice and equality, and never giving up on the conviction that we can create a better world TOGETHER.

With Love, Peace, and Compassion,

-Tamie
