NDIS REVIEW

More Ways to Have Your Say

Hi everyone

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe it's 2024. This is going to be a very important year for our community as we absorb the recommendations of the NDIS Review and await the government's response.

There is a lot to take in and we put together this video podcast to help our community understand the key recommendations.

We want to remind everyone that the NDIS Review recommendations, are just that. They are recommendations, they are not government policy.

We have an opportunity to tell the government what we think about the recommendations. To do this, we need to make sure we hear from you and understand your thoughts and concerns about the NDIS Review. Here are some ways you can have your say…

Take part in and share our survey

One way to have your say is to complete our survey. It won't take long. You will help us decide what is good and bad about the NDIS Review and what action we need to take.
Please share this survey amongst your networks. The survey will be open for the next 4 weeks.

Join our next NDIS Review Forum

Thank you to everyone who attended the Every Australian Counts Forum last month. Thank you for speaking from your heart and sharing your concerns, your voice matters. Together, we are strong, powerful and committed to making the NDIS work. In case you missed it, this is what people are saying about our last forum:

"The EAC event today was really different. I felt elated and would give you all a massive big hug if I could. I have felt "I can't do this again" but today it was like the comrades are coming together again and we will push back and challenge the naïve and simplistic solutions being proposed…"

"Today's session was a relief as much as it was powerful."

“Thank goodness for today's EAC forum as it restored some hope that our disability community will stand together and face this current adversity being forced upon us."

The event was so popular that some people did not get in so we have upgraded our zoom account and we are running another one on
Saturday 20th January 12pm AEDST. Please come prepared to tell us what you think! Register below to have your say on the recommendations of the NDIS Review.

When the survey closes and when we have collated all of the information from the forums, we will share the findings with you and work out together what should happen next. So stay tuned to our socials and keep an eye out for our next newsletter for the latest updates.

Before i go, if you like writing and would like to share your insights on the NDIS Review on our website, email us with your story.

Please keep the word count between 400 and 800 words.

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you on Saturday.

Kind regards,
Dr George Taleporos

The hidden risks in the NDIS restructure by Rick Morton

The NDIS is on the brink of its biggest-ever restructure, and people in the disability community are concerned that the earliest reforms in a sweeping agenda may leave many who rely on the service unsupported.
