In four days, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives is holding a hearing to advance their legislation to create a closed-door “fiscal commission” to negotiate cuts to Social Security and Medicare in secret. The White House has rightly called such a commission a “death panel for Medicare & Social Security.”

Republicans want to make the creation of this closed-door commission the price of keeping the government open past this week. We’re going to stop them.
