View as Webpage ‌ ‌ ‌ Option to Request Extension of Today's Sales Tax Deadline for Those Affected by COVID-19 The following is a bulletin from the Virginia Department of Taxation. Tax Commissioner Craig M. Burns announced that the Department will consider requests from sales tax dealers for an extension of the due date for filing and payment of the February 2020 sales tax return due March 20, 2020. If the request is granted, the Department will allow filing and payment of such return on April 20, 2020 with a waiver of any penalties that would have applied. However, interest will accrue even if an extension is granted. Dealers should submit a request for extension by utilizing the secure e-mail system available on the Department’s website, by faxing to (804) 254-6111, or writing to the following address: Virginia Tax Office of Customer Services P.O. Box 1115 Richmond, VA 23218-1115 The Department will be addressing return and payment due dates for other taxes in the near future. This Tax Bulletin is available on-line in the Laws, Rules & Decisions section of www.tax.virginia.gov/. If you have any questions regarding this Tax Bulletin, please contact the Department of Taxation Office of Customer Services at (804) 367-8037. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Arlington Chamber of Commerce | 2009 14th Street, North, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22201 Unsubscribe [email protected] Update Profile | About Constant Contact Sent by [email protected] in collaboration with Try email marketing for free today!
