I don't like to make predictions but I do like to analyze patterns. About a week ago, I wrote an article projecting when lockdowns could become more widespreadbased on the patterns of China and Italy. Those patterns suggested the 19th
and 20th could be the dates when the US began to crack down more seriously.
Yesterday, California issued a "shelter in place" order (which is a nice way of saying lockdown) for 40 million people.
There wasn't much in the way of advance notice. The governor there says this will be "enforced."
I hesitated before writing this because my goal is to help you prepare, not to cause you to panic. But I felt the importance of this note outweighed the possibility that some people could be upset.
So here goes.
I strongly expect lockdowns to become more widespread today or over the weekend. I do not know this for sure, but the patterns indicate that it will happen. Will it be national or regional? Neither would surprise me.
My advice is to treat today as though this is your last day to get what you need and be where you want to be. I don't want you to be afraid - just be aware and make your efforts count. If you've already spent more than you can afford, focus on any errands you might need to run, like getting eyeglasses repaired or picking up prescriptions.
I suggest you do these things as early in the day as possible. If an announcement is made, things in your area could get a little hairy when people who have denied this possibility the entire time get an unpleasant wakeup call.

There's a 100% chance you will not think of everything. Nobody will. Just do your best with the resources you have. That's all any of us can do.
