Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today!

Today we honor the enduring legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his unwavering commitment to equal access to the ballot for all – something that still resonates so deeply to me.

My name is Alicia, John, and I've been a nanny for eight years and now I'm proudly also serving as a lead canvasser, working to educate and register voters right here in Atlanta on behalf of NDWA.

I've spent a lot of time in the more poverty stricken neighborhoods: the neighborhoods that are left out by everyone else. These are the same neighborhoods that Dr. King fought for relentlessly, ensuring that every resident, regardless of the color of their skin, could exercise their right to vote.

We have helped educate and empower THOUSANDS of voters already, but, with major elections this year, we need your support now more than ever. John, will you stand with us and make a donation to help guarantee that everyone can vote, regardless of their skin color or economic status?

Reaching people who have been intentionally left behind by the political process has taken me to some very uncomfortable places. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices and spent a lot of time in these places to meet the people we need to reach and be in service to them.

One of the things I'm most proud of is talking to several convicted felons who thought they could never vote again. I was able to give them the information that if you're "off papers" and not doing community service, you can register to vote.

Our work registering voters is literally only possible because of the barriers broken down by giants like Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. But, it's also possible because of the generosity of individuals like you, John.

So I want to ask: Can you donate today, especially as we honor Dr. King's legacy, to ensure that everyone, regardless of their skin color or neighborhood, can exercise their right to vote?

Thanks for all you do,
