Dear friend,
Thank you for being a part of The Union's most dedicated volunteers. We'd not be as effective without YOU!
Voting begins! The 2024 Presidential election is no longer a hypothetical fever dream. As we dive into local and national races, there is something inspiring going on in our country. Our optimism is growing as the polls strongly track in favor of democracy, and the sense of new beginnings and endless possibilities makes us hopeful for a fantastic year of election victories. Martin Luther King Jr., would have been 95 on January 15th, so it’s quite fitting to invoke his 1957 “Give Us the Ballot ([link removed]) ” ([link removed]) address, extolling politicians regardless of party to fulfill the promise of Brown vs Board of Education, and ensure voting rights for African Americans.
He said, "In this juncture of our nation’s history, there is an urgent need for dedicated and courageous leadership. If we are to solve the problems ahead and make racial justice a reality, this leadership must be fourfold.”
