Hi there,

Every year on the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I’m reminded of
this quotation:

“We are not makers of history; we are made by history.” - Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.

The truth is, history has brought us to a point where we must decide
whether we will defend the civil rights of every American – rights that
Americans like Congressman John Lewis and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were
willing to give their lives for – or whether we will allow our democracy
to crumble.

Over the last few years, extremists have ramped up an all-out assault on
voting rights. In the months after the January 6 insurrection, Republicans
introduced over 400 voter suppression bills in 49 state legislatures, and
dark-money groups spent tens of millions of dollars promoting them.

Our democracy is under siege, and it’s time to fight back against the
continued efforts to enact discriminatory voter suppression laws, embrace
Trump’s Big Lie, and undermine our democracy. I will never stop fighting
to protect your voting rights and make it easier for every eligible
American to cast their ballot.

[ [link removed] ]Today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I'm asking you to join me. Will
you add your name next to mine in support of defending the sacred right to
vote?

We must not only recommit ourselves to the fight for justice for all
Americans, but also show up and stand in solidarity.

With gratitude,

Bob
