It’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day for reflection, remembrance, and renewed commitment to the enduring principles of justice and equality that Dr. King fought for.

We’ve made commendable strides in dismantling systemic barriers and moving closer to the vision Dr. King had for our nation, but our journey towards true equality for all is ongoing.

Representing Alabama’s historic civil rights district is an honor and responsibility I do not take lightly. AL-07 stands as a testament to Dr. King’s voice and the pivotal moment in our country’s history when the struggle for justice and equality reached a turning point.

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let us recommit ourselves to the principles that have driven our fight for justice and equality, and embrace our shared humanity through public service.
