In fact, Boebert is so hated in her home district (CO-3) that she has abandoned it for a more conservative seat (CO-4). Boebert commented on this decision, describing it as “a fresh start following a difficult year for me and my family”. We can only imagine how much less difficult the year would have been for Boebert if she could have refrained from vaping and frolicking in front of children at the movie theatre, or avoid punching ex-husbands in restaurants. However, luckily, Mr Boebert told the Denver Post that he does not want to press charges and ascribes Representative Boebert’s behaviour to “working through a difficult conversation”. It does explain a great deal about our political system to see that our house reps process difficult conversations this way. All the same, you don’t see any Democrats in the news for domestic abuse. Boebert’s behavior is at best unbelievably trashy, and at a worst deeply troubling look into the psyche which fuels MAGA ideology: violent and impulsive. January 6th has been so thoroughly canvassed in our news cycles that it’s easy to become desensitized to what actually happened that day. It was hundreds of people who felt that the conversation had become too difficult, and they had to work through it with physical violence. This kind of behavior has no place in our politics or our representatives, and we as American citizens should demand better. Chip in to help us turn Colorado blue and unseat Boebert altogether! We must stand up against far-right extremists, no matter how ridiculous they may seem, because our politicians have power. These kinds of actions can't be normalised, we must demand better from our representatives! |
