John,
Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
During his life, MLK taught that in the face of injustice, we must not fall into inaction and despair. Instead, “we must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future.”
John, I believe that fully.
Since the election of Donald Trump in 2016, the GOP has been doing everything they can to undo the progress that Dr. King, and those who came after him, made. From the overturning of the Voting Rights Act to the ending of Affirmative Action in higher education, they’re working overtime to un-level the playing field.
This November, we’re going to stop them.
Today is a day to reflect on how far we’ve come, and how far we still have to go. Every day, we should all do our part to continue to bend the arc of history towards justice.
Thank you,
Julie

I’m ready to make history as the first openly-LGBTQ member of Congress from the South, and I want you by my side. Will you chip in $32 to celebrate my campaign in the 32nd district? [[link removed]]
