“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Friend: Today, we honor not only the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but his teachings of peace and justice.

His legacy has inspired activists across generations and motivated us to overcome the hate we, unfortunately, see daily in this country. Today, his teachings remind us to focus on progress and moving forward. His words are as true today as they were then, and we must remind ourselves the fight is far from over.

I hope you will join me today in honoring and celebrating Dr. King’s words and life.

I encourage everyone to treat each other with kindness and to come together to protect our democracy.

Thank you,

– Debbie
