Friend, a personal note from me today.

As we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr., I’m thinking about his legacy.

The Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act were passed thanks to the movement he led. Millions enjoy expanded rights that were deferred or restricted for generations because of him. It’s humbling to think about the impact one person can have on our democracy.

We’ll surely see some half-baked posts from folks like Kari Lake and Kyrsten Sinema about how important Martin Luther King, Jr. was. True.

But here’s the deal:

Kari Lake has fought his legacy at every turn, and her lies, her extremism, her election denial only aim to restrict the rights that King worked towards. Kyrsten Sinema had the opportunity to vote to amend the filibuster and protect voting rights for millions, and she failed.

Worst of all, we’ve had to watch the Supreme Court absolutely eviscerate the Voting Rights Act in the years since the GOP gained a majority. We are all worse off because of it.

It’s grim. But I’m a Marine — I will not back down. I will not stop fighting to protect and expand those rights. So today, especially today, I hope you’re with me.

If you are, can you make a simple act and let me know you have my back in this campaign? I’ll fight on my own if I have to, but we will always go further if we work together.

Use this link and add your name to thousands of others who have endorsed my campaign in Arizona.
