Join us and our incredible five speakers for the launch of our UK-wide campaign for a Fossil Fuel Treaty, as we begin to build on some of the incredible work already started in Scotland.

We’ll hear about the on-the-ground struggle to end fossil fuels and the growing global campaign for the treaty, as well as why the UK should endorse it and how we campaign on it here.
This campaign launch will be closely followed by online meetings to kickstart our UK-wide campaigning. Join one of these to meet others in your area, get top tips on local campaigning and start to make plans to get the fossil fuel treaty firmly on the political map in the run-up to the general election. Get these dates in your diaries now, and we’ll send round links to register and join nearer the time.
* Scotland: Monday 29 January, 7pm
* Wales: Wednesday 31 January, 7pm
* England and Northern Ireland: Thursday 8 February, 6pm
Though fossil fuel production was finally on the agenda at COP28, the outcome was far from what is needed. The final text showed no clear pathway to phase out fossil fuels and was littered with loopholes, dangerous distractions and funding gaps.
A Fossil Fuel Treaty could change things. It would map out a legally binding pathway and hold world leaders to account for taking urgent action to end the fossil fuel era once and for all. It’s clear our current systems are not working - and our planet cannot afford any more tepid dither and delay.

It won’t be easy, but when we raise our voices together and take action in our communities, towns and cities, we can create pressure impossible for politicians, local and national, to ignore. As energy bills rise and oil and gas shareholders make billions; as both flooding and drought increase in the UK and extreme weather devastates countries in the global south, we’re saying enough is enough.
We refuse to bankroll the greed of a dying industry that’s taking our planet with it. It’s time for the UK to join the call for a global exit plan from fossil fuels - will you join us?
Yours in solidarity,
Daisy Pearson
