Today we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. who worked to free Americans from the racism, violence, and poverty which have plagued our nation since its founding. 

On this holiday, let us remember that King dreamed not only of an America where people of all colors could live up to their full potential - he envisioned a nation where we are all guaranteed a decent standard of living.

In an era of rising costs and soaring inequality, the struggle for economic justice remains as relevant today as it ever has been. 

As your next state representative, I hope to do my small part in advancing the cause of social justice for which Dr. King gave his life more than half a century ago.
