It was an honor for Michael to return to Mother Emanuel AME Church — and to hear President Biden acknowledge the community's important work on the International African American Museum.

Across SC-01, folks are committed to strengthening our democracy, healing our nation, and fighting hate in all its forms. 

Michael enjoyed talking to the residents of Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community in Charleston.

Nancy Mace wants to make their lives harder by cutting Social Security and Medicare. But Michael won't let extreme politicians pull the rug out from under our seniors in SC-01. 

Michael had a great time meeting with members of the Berkeley County Democratic Party and special guest Randall Woodfin, the mayor of Birmingham, Alabama.

Together, they encouraged folks in Moncks Corner to get out and vote in next month's first-in-the-nation presidential primary! 

Nancy Mace never misses an opportunity to make it about herself, and the Hunter Biden contempt hearing was no exception.

Mace is more focused on showboating in front of a live audience than serving the people of SC-01.

If she had any other job, she would be fired on the spot for her unprofessional behavior. It's unbefitting a member of Congress.

Following President Biden's speech at Mother Emanuel, Michael spoke to WCBD about South Carolina's upcoming presidential primary.

WCIV covered Michael's response to Nancy Mace's remarks at last week's Hunter Biden hearing, where she invoked Civil War hero and legendary Lowcountry Congressman Robert Smalls — who happens to be Michael's great-great-grandfather.

As Issac Bailey wrote in an op-ed in The State, Nancy Mace "is just the latest in a growing number of powerful people acting like toddlers in public when things haven't gone their way."

He's right. And in November, SC-01 is going to send an adult to Congress who knows how to get stuff done.

Michael mourned the loss of Josephine Wright, a beloved Lowcountry resident who fought till her final days to protect her property and preserve Gullah Geechee culture.

May her memory remind us that we're all capable of inspiring change in our communities — no matter our age or position.

There's so much work to do, and we're only just getting started.
