Dear ,

We at the Ayni Institute are hoping that you are all staying safe and well during these times. Many of us may be feeling uncertain of what’s to come or unsure about how we and those around will be managing our needs and responsibilities. We want to recognize those who may be feeling this way and are sending love and support to all our communities, neighbors, and friends during this time.

In our trainings, many of us come together to prepare for and deal with situations that are difficult. We believe that it’s important not to be reactive in these moments and instead recognize that these times require reflection and learning new strategies. We know that this moment can provide the possibility to make necessary shifts in your organizations, movements, and communities.

Below are a series of webinars that we believe can be supportive:
* 3/21: Spring Equinox Ceremony ([link removed])
* 3/26: The Strategy of Mutual Aid ([link removed])
* 3/31: Movement Ecology in times of Crisis ([link removed])

We know that there’s wisdom to gain from this situation. We also know that part of the crisis we’re facing is due to our broken relationship with Mother Earth. That is why we will continue to do virtual gatherings that seek to bring us closer to our planet.
What: Virtual Spring Equinox Ceremony
When: Saturday, March 21st at 3PM
Where: Online. Please RSVP ([link removed]) here ([link removed]) . ([link removed])
Who: You! And anyone else you’d like to e-bring!

Join us in a special ceremony to welcome the Spring!

The March Equinox signals the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Even though we're apart we will celebrate the start of this new season with an amazing call to sacred energies, mantras, and a sound journey led by Susan Barney, Kamal Ahmed, Marisol Santiago, and Rose Gallogly.

A Movement Response - Free Webinar Series

A moment of crisis where things are unfolding and changing is one where conventional wisdom and status-quo approaches may not best meet the needs of an unconventional time. Instead, a moment like this requires that we be adaptable and resilient so that we can support our communities to weather what's to come. With the instability of global markets, business as usual approaches, and the government's sporadic and uncoordinated responses - we need to be ready and create a response where we can be in solidarity with one another. If you would like to learn more, we welcome you to read Paul Engler's article "Coronavirus is a historic trigger event — and it needs a movement to respond" ([link removed]) on Waging Nonviolence.

With this said, we’re hosting two webinars to support those who may be wondering how to respond in their communities.
What: The Strategy of Mutual Aid ([link removed])
When: Thursday, March 26th at 7:30-9:00PM EST
Where: Online. Please RSVP ([link removed]) here ([link removed]) . ([link removed])
Who: You! And anyone else you’d like to e-bring!

The purpose of this webinar is to share the importance of Mutual Aid as a strategic response to this crisis. This means orienting ourselves to new ways of engaging in organization and strategy. We’ll explain the difference between Mutual Aid and services. We’ll also be sharing some of the basics needed to start mutual aid networks for those that are interested in getting one started.

What: Movement Ecology in times of Crisis ([link removed])
When: Tuesday, March 31st at 7:30-9:00PM EST
Where: Online. Please RSVP here. ([link removed])
Who: You! And anyone else you’d like to e-bring!

In this moment we’re seeing various organizations and individuals responding to the crisis and making demands for paid-leave, universal basic income, rent freezes, and more. We’re seeing workers striking so that they can have basic protections to work during this crisis. We’re also seeing community members and groups hosting various online meet-ups to support people who are staying inside.

In a time when we’re being pulled in so many directions, it’s important to understand how these responses relate to each other and distinguish what is most supportive towards an effective multi-strategic response.

We hope you can e-join us, please stay safe and well.

In reciprocity,
The Ayni Team
