I hope you enjoy a meaningful Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
You may not know this, but it’s the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer in support of their communities.
Volunteerism has a rich tradition in our country, but whether or not you’ll be supporting or participating in a service project, I hope you will join me in appreciating how far our country has come to secure equality under the law for people of all backgrounds.
