This is true more than ever, as we face down a pandemic when so many of us are uninsured or underinsured, facing layoffs, and struggling to pay bills.
Delawareans agree we should care for the sick without fear of crippling debt. We should educate students no matter their ability to pay. We should guarantee a roof over everyone’s head and wages they can thrive on. We have a right to clean air and water.
But recently a voter said something different. With a bit of frustration she asked, “Why CAN’T we have these things?”
Senator Coons should answer that voter’s question. She deserves to hear that we can’t have those things — not because they aren’t good, practical policies — but because Big Pharma, insurance companies, banks, and fossil fuel companies simply don’t want us to. That it’s easier to stay in their good graces than be a champion for working people.
We’re done with politicians who tell us what we can’t do. We have to say it’s time for them to either step up or step aside. Either way we will continue fighting for a platform that puts people first.
Proud to fight alongside you,
- Jess
PS: We need volunteers phone banking now more than ever. If 50 people reading this email signed up for a phone banking shift this week, we’d crush our voter contact goal. Can you click here and sign up to volunteer?
