Friend, it’s Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and I want to talk to you about one of the most important Senate races in the country: Colin Allred’s campaign against Ted Cruz in Texas.

With Sen. Joe Manchin retiring, the pressure is on Democrats not just to defend every remaining seat we can, but to pick one up as well. Texas is a terrific chance.

Democrat Colin Allred is running to defeat Ted Cruz, and experts agree he can win. But Colin needs your grassroots support to do it, so I’m personally asking: Will you chip in $5 or more to help Colin reach his mid-month goal before midnight tonight so he can defeat Ted Cruz and help Democrats protect the Senate? →

We came close to flipping this seat in 2018, and Colin Allred is a great Texas candidate. Born and raised in Dallas, he played football for Baylor and in the NFL before becoming a civil rights attorney. He defeated a 22-year Republican incumbent to make it to the House, where he’s become known for bipartisanship and a deep commitment to causes like voting rights and reproductive freedom.

Now, experts are calling Ted Cruz the most vulnerable GOP Senator in the entire country, and Colin’s gaining ground. The only thing that could hold him back is a lack of resources. National Republicans are going to attempt every trick in the book against Colin to try and hold this seat, and he can’t fight back without your help.

So please, ahead of tonight's mid-month deadline, will you donate $5, or whatever you can afford, to help Colin defeat Ted Cruz, bring commonsense leadership to Texas, and help Democrats keep the Senate blue? →

Every dollar truly matters in a race this consequential. Thank you for giving what you can,

Sheldon Whitehouse
