I’ve got about 15 minutes between calls and meetings right now. Might not sound like much, but to me it’s a gift.
I wanted to take a few of those minutes to let you know how critical your support is to my campaign, and to ask you to make a contribution if you can.
So look: I was never supposed to be here. Statistically, a Latino kid with a single mother like me was never supposed to get into college.
But when I told my family I was going to Harvard, they didn’t laugh at me — they supported me. I had teachers who did everything they could to get me there. And I made it. I got in.
A couple years later I joined the Marines to serve my country. When I got sent to Iraq, it was hard to think further ahead than even a few hours at a time. I lost a lot of friends. But thanks to the guys I served with, I made it home.
I struggled with PTSD after that. Some really dark times. And I realized that I needed to find a new way to serve. But back when I was just that poor kid sleeping on the floor in our apartment, I never thought I’d run for Congress — let alone win.
I never would’ve thought that I’d run for Senate either, or that I’d have hundreds of thousands of people support me. That close to 150,000 of them would donate to my campaign. It’s humbling, and I’m very grateful.
And I never thought I’d need to ask someone like you to do more than that. But if we’re going to win in Arizona, if we’re going to defeat Kari Lake and take this seat back from Kyrsten Sinema, that’s what I have to do.
I’ve got to ask you to join them and make your first donation to my campaign.
Whether it was my family, my teachers, my Marines, or supporters like you, I’ve never done anything on my own. I’ve always had help. And I know enough to know when to ask for it. So please:
Can you add a donation to thousands of others who have chipped in so far?] Whatever success we have this November is going to come from the support of people like you.
