For as long as the United States of America has even been an idea, let alone a reality, there has also been the idea that 
private citizens and states should be allowed to protect themselves
[link removed]
 from a federal or national government.

 

Without that protection, we wouldn’t have the Bill of Rights and individual freedoms, you know, the very fabric that our nation was built on.

 

However, over the last few decades, the 
Second Amendment
[link removed]
, which allows private citizens to “
keep and bear arms
[link removed]
,” has come under attack. Most are simply worried about the increase in gun violence and deaths we’ve seen of late. So, they propose doing away with or reforming our gun rights.

But that hasn’t always gone as planned.

 

We’d like to know your opinion on the matter. Would 
banning private ownership of guns

 in America make our communities safer? Or would it only make us more vulnerable, both to the government and criminals?
