It is probably safe to assume the true magnitude of the social and economic impacts resulting from the coronavirus pandemic has hit home for most Australians.

Rest assured that One Nation is working at all levels to scrutinise and then support all measures necessary to limit the disruption caused by the spread of this virus.

One Nation has committed to working sensibly, with all parties involved, to provide people with the assistance they need should they find themselves in trouble during these difficult times.

However, while One Nation has agreed to support all measures necessary to provide Australians assistance, we will still be calling out the Government when they put forward proposals that are not in the best interests of Australia.

This is why One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson has condemned a plan to lift working restrictions placed on foreign students.

A requirement of a foreign student’s visa is that they can sustain themselves without an additional income stream. This means allowing them unrestricted work at a time when Aussies desperately need replacement work is wrong.

During tough times, it is even more critical that our representatives ensure hard-working Australian families come first.

One Nation Calls Out Petrol Price Gouging

One of the positives that should be coming out of the Coronavirus crisis is some relief at the petrol pump.

Yet despite crude oil prices crashing to an 18-year low, bowser prices have remained high.

We have seen the price of a barrel of crude oil drop 60% in the past month from USD$52.05 in mid-February to USD$20.37, but the cost of unleaded fuel has remained virtually the same.

In Sydney, unleaded has decreased on average from $155.6 per litre (18 February) to $139.4 (18 March); in Melbourne from $154.9 (18 Feb) to $124.2 (18 Mar) and, in Brisbane from $158.1 (18 Feb) to $131.8 (18 Mar) with some unleaded prices in Brisbane still as high as $1.59.

One Nation MP Stephen Andrew has had a gut full and wrote to Queensland Premier Annistacia Palaszczuk requesting immediate action after fuel price decreases were not passed.

Businesses being stung by the Coronavirus downturn need to reduce their overheads, but high fuel prices for cars, trucks and generators are among costs eating into their profitability.

Workers around Australia are also feeling the pinch, with the high prices contributing to the strain on weekly household budgets.

One Nation will be pursuing this further because petrol price gouging has been going on for far too long and it's not acceptable.

To profiteer off Aussies during a time when we should all be pulling together is truly shameful, and those who do must face the consequences.

 Health Care Heroes

We want to leave you this week with a message of thanks from One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts to our health care heroes.

Our healthcare workers are on the frontline in this war against the virus, and Australia is forever grateful for your work.

We owe you a great debt.

Thank you!

That is this weeks recap from One Nation.

While you're here, we'd love to ask a favour. We are a party with fewer resources than Labor with their union donations and the Liberals with their big corporates, but with your help and by listening to the people, we can achieve real change in parliament for the betterment of the country.

One Nation is run on purely grassroots support. We rely on the contributions of mums, dads, daughters and sons from the top to bottom of Australia to stay running as a party and every dollar counts.

We appreciate times are tough but even a small amount of support makes a difference. Your help enables us to keep up the fight in politics and get Australia back on track.
